Armed Forces Commander Directs Provision of All Counter-Terrorism Service Equipment Needs
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, on Thursday, directed that all necessary supplies for the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS), including weapons, equipment, and essential gear, be provided. The Prime Minister's media office reported that Al-Zaidi conducted a field visit to the CTS headquarters the same day. The visit aimed to assess combat and administrative readiness and to follow up on the Service's needs and requirements for capability development. Al-Zaidi commenced his visit with a tour of the exhibition showcasing the CTS's military weapons, equipment, and gear. He observed the latest systems and arms in use, and received a detailed explanation of their capabilities and effectiveness in executing combat duties and special operations. The Commander-in-Chief then chaired a meeting attended by his office director, the CTS head, and several commanders. During the session, he received a detailed briefing from the CTS head, covering combat mission progress, readiness levels, and plans for performance improvement and enhancing operational capabilities. Meeting with CTS leaders and fighters, the Prime Minister lauded their heroic role, affirming they remain symbols of honor and sacrifice. Their courage and dedication have shaped the new Iraq, offering a lesson in loyalty to the nation and decisively defeating terrorism and its gangs. Al-Zaidi underscored the importance of maintaining the fighters' high combat spirit and reinforcing values of heroism, discipline, and courage. He stressed the government's commitment to caring for the wounded, providing optimal medical services, and supporting martyrs' families who made the ultimate sacrifices for Iraq and its people. He also directed continuous focus on fighters' physical fitness and ensuring all CTS needs for weapons, equipment, and necessary supplies are met. This will bolster readiness, enabling the Service to perform national duties with peak efficiency, professionalism, and expertise.
