Anticipated Parliamentary Hosting of Finance Minister Tomorrow to Discuss Budget

The Parliamentary Finance Committee intends to hold an expanded hosting session tomorrow, Tuesday, for Finance Minister Faleh Al-Sari and a number of senior officials and advanced staff in the ministry, with the aim of discussing the details of the draft general budget law for the year 2027. Committee member Riyadh Al-Tamimi explained that this step comes in response to an invitation extended by the parliamentary committee, noting that the meeting will discuss the budget draft early and before it officially reaches the parliament dome. He added that the parliament's internal bylaws, specifically Article 61, grant the committee the right and authority to be previously informed of the course of preparing the budget, stressing that the main goal of this hosting is to directly inquire from the minister about the mechanisms followed in preparing the budget and to know the extent of its inclusion of contracts, wages, and job grades files. He pointed out the presence of statements and parties speaking on behalf of the minister regarding the details of the budget, which called for holding this hosting to ascertain the full facts and know its exact details, confirming that the committee has completely finished the agenda of the session and prepared the proposed questions to be raised during the meeting.
