Amedi Urges Women's Nomination for Leadership, Dedicated Ministry

President Nizar Amedi called for nominating a woman as Vice President or Deputy Prime Minister, also suggesting creating a Ministry for Women's Affairs, independent of electoral requirements, to boost their presence in leadership roles. During his address at the Islamic Conference on Combating Violence Against Women, Amedi stressed that regional security and stability depend on Iraq's own security. He highlighted Iraq's strength comes from its unity and prioritizing national interests. Amedi stated Iraq is a pivotal nation for global and regional economic stability, affirming that protecting its sovereignty and stability amid regional changes is a collective responsibility. The President also backed rigorous governmental and legal efforts to eradicate corruption and recover public funds, reaffirming support for government and judicial anti-corruption measures. Amedi reiterated his appeal for a woman's nomination to top executive roles or a specific women's ministry outside elections, urging political blocs to consider female representation in cabinet completion.
