Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi on Tuesday invited German companies to invest in Iraq, affirming that the country is charting the course for a new economy and a promising economic identity. He emphasized Iraq's need for productive partnerships to support its development trajectory, noting the nation enjoys political and economic stability and a robust democratic system that underpins institutional work. Al-Zaidi's remarks came during his participation in the German-Iraqi Dialogue Forum, held today in the German capital, Berlin, under the theme "Economic Bridges for a Shared Future." The forum saw broad attendance from businessmen and representatives of major German companies. The Prime Minister highlighted numerous commonalities between Iraq and Germany, describing Germany as a significant industrial nation with which the Iraqi government seeks to enhance cooperation across various sectors. He reiterated that Iraq is currently embracing a new economic path with promising ambitions, which necessitates effective partnerships to drive the wheel of development. On the sidelines of the forum, Al-Zaidi presented Iraq's investment map, which includes vital sectors such as energy, oil and petrochemical industries, phosphates, clean energy, and pharmaceutical industries, in addition to supporting government automation programs. He also outlined a comprehensive vision for the government's plans to implement integrated financial, tax, and banking reforms aimed at creating an attractive investment environment and supporting sustainable economic growth. Al-Zaidi reiterated his invitation to German companies to invest in his country, stressing the government's commitment to providing a conducive investment environment and overcoming all challenges that might face their operations. He clarified that the Iraqi investment law offers extensive facilities and guarantees for investors, reaffirming the political and economic stability enjoyed by Iraq and its democratic system that supports institutional continuity.
