US reports Pentagon prepares target list striking Iran
US reports, quoting informed sources, stated that the Pentagon has prepared a list of targets to launch strikes against Iran in case US President Donald Trump orders new attacks on the country.
The reports said: "The Pentagon has prepared a series of plans for military targets in case Trump ultimately decides to approve new strikes."
According to the US reports, the Pentagon considers Iranian energy facilities and infrastructure elements as potential targets.
They explained that Trump discussed the next steps regarding Tehran with senior officials of his administration on Sunday after his return from China. The meeting, held at his golf club in Virginia, was attended by Vice President JD Vance, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
The reports did not provide details about the content of the meeting, but indicated that Trump felt disappointed over the ongoing blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on global oil prices.
Trump is expected to meet again with his national security team early this week.
