US Forces Disable Vessel Attempting to Breach Naval Blockade on Iran

The US Central Command announced that its forces disabled a commercial vessel in the Gulf of Oman on Saturday after its civilian crew repeatedly ignored warnings and attempted multiple times to breach the naval blockade imposed on Iran. The command stated that a US military aircraft fired precision munitions at the stern of the MV Hoda, registered under the flag of Saint Kitts, resulting in its disablement after the crew was directed to leave the targeted areas. The vessel, a cargo ship, attempted to leave territorial waters following a visit to an Iranian port. The command affirmed the continued strict enforcement of the US naval blockade on Iran. According to the statement, enforcement actions since July have resulted in redirecting 147 commercial vessels that complied with warnings and disabling 5 commercial ships that refused to comply, including the mentioned vessel. The statement also noted the destruction of 10 other Iranian commercial oil tankers, part of the Revolutionary Guard's "Shadow" network, valued at billions of dollars. The command urged all mariners passing near Iranian coastal areas or surrounding waters to adhere to the blockade warnings issued by US forces.
