UAE Withdrawal from OPEC sovereign strategic decision

UAE Minister of Energy Suhail Al Mazrouei emphasized that the UAE's decision to withdraw from the OPEC and OPEC+ alliances is a sovereign and strategic choice that came after a comprehensive evaluation of the national production policy and the country's future capabilities.

Al Mazrouei explained that the decision is not based on any political considerations, nor does it reflect any divisions between the UAE and its partners in the alliance, stressing that relations with member states are based on cooperation and mutual respect.

He pointed out that the UAE takes its sovereign and strategic decisions in accordance with its national interests, away from speculation or misleading narratives being circulated regarding the reasons for the decision.

The UAE Minister of Energy confirmed that the country is continuing to develop the energy sector and enhance its production capabilities in line with its future plans and long-term economic vision
