Turkish forces to remain in Iraq and Syria for border security

Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler stressed on Tuesday that his country's military forces will remain in Iraq and Syria until complete border security is guaranteed. Guler explained in a written response to Agence France-Presse that Ankara maintains its military presence in both neighboring countries, noting that the status of military bases and regional presence will be reconsidered once necessary conditions regarding regional and border security are achieved.
