Trump Praises Iran Deal, Issues Warning
Former U.S. President Donald Trump, on Wednesday, lauded the framework agreement his administration negotiated with Iran, describing it as "very strong." He indicated that most people seem completely satisfied with it, despite not knowing its full details. During the G7 summit in France, Trump clarified that this agreement is merely a memorandum of understanding. He explicitly warned that if he were not pleased with its terms, or if Tehran were to misbehave, his administration would "immediately return to dropping bombs right on their heads." Trump affirmed that the memorandum of understanding with Iran does not include immediate relief from sanctions imposed on Tehran, noting that he would address this matter at a later time. The former U.S. President stressed that the agreement would provide a significant boost to global markets, stating: "Nothing is smarter than the market, and it likes this agreement more than anything I've ever seen." He added that "the alternative would be a global depression." In a related development, oil prices neared their lowest level in three months today. Trump predicted further declines, saying, "I think oil prices probably go down below pre-war levels."
