Transport Ministry Confirms Iraqi Airspace Open with No Flight Restrictions

The Ministry of Transport confirmed today, Friday, that Iraqi airspace remains open for flight operations without any restrictions, bans on flights, or mandatory changes to the routes of passing aircraft. The ministry's official spokesperson, Ali Al-Khalidi, stated in a release that the Civil Aviation Authority denied the issuance of a NOTAM imposing temporary restrictions or mandatory routes on all aircraft crossing Iraqi airspace, affirming that all air routes are fully accessible. Al-Khalidi also noted that the Security Media Cell denied any closure of the airspace due to security developments, clarifying that the only measure taken was the allocation of a limited airspace area for training purposes during the annual firing exercise, upon the request of the Air Defense Command and in coordination with relevant aviation navigation authorities, without imposing any general restrictions on flight movement. The spokesperson urged media outlets and social media users to ensure accuracy and rely on official sources when disseminating information related to air navigation.
