Tehran Denies Trading Nuclear Site Inspections for Sanctions Relief

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday refuted claims suggesting that Tehran offered to grant International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors access to its nuclear facilities in return for easing economic sanctions. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated during a press briefing, responding to reports regarding the inclusion of such an offer in Iran's proposal to Washington, that "this matter was never raised at all." Baghaei explained that Iran has not entered into any discussions about trading its nuclear file for sanctions relief, noting that Tehran merely submitted its conditions to mediators within what he termed the "seven-day plan," tasking them with conveying these terms to the American side, according to Iran's official news agency, IRNA.
