Tehran Denies Talks with Washington, Confirms Oman Cooperation on Hormuz

The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghaei, confirmed Monday that Tehran is not currently holding negotiations with the United States. He noted ongoing talks with the Sultanate of Oman concerning the Strait of Hormuz. Baghaei, addressing a press conference, clarified there are no plans to receive a U.S. delegation or send an Iranian one to Washington at present. He stated Iran is collaborating with Muscat to establish a temporary safe route through the Strait of Hormuz. However, Baghaei emphasized that an agreement with Oman on this passage alone is insufficient for fully reopening the Strait, asserting the situation will persist as long as what he termed American aggression continues.
