State of Law Coalition Denies Understandings Regarding Al-Maliki Ceding Interior Ministry Portfolio

The office of State of Law Coalition leader Nouri al-Maliki today, Saturday, issued a strong denial of any understandings regarding the relinquishing of the Interior Ministry portfolio. Hisham al-Rikabi, al-Maliki's office director, posted on X that "reports circulated by some media about agreements for al-Maliki to cede the Interior Ministry are baseless." He emphasized that "this matter is not under discussion, and any such circulating information lacks accuracy."
