Russian Defenses Repel Drone Attack Targeting Oil Refinery in Tyumen
Alexander Moor, Governor of Russia's Tyumen region in West Siberia, announced Saturday that Russian air defenses successfully repelled a drone attack targeting an oil refinery in the area. Moor stated via Telegram that emergency teams were dispatched to the site where drone debris fell, confirming that preliminary information indicated no damage to the refinery and that staff had been evacuated as a precautionary measure. Tyumen, situated over 2500 kilometers east of the Ukrainian border, is recognized as one of Russia's most significant oil and gas producing regions. The Tyumen refinery boasts a nominal production capacity of approximately 8 million tons annually, ranking among the country's newest and most advanced facilities. Estimates suggest it processes around 6 million tons of crude oil yearly, producing approximately 0.5 million tons of gasoline and 2.5 million tons of diesel.
