Prime Minister Al-Zaidi to Head to New York Next Week for UN General Assembly Meetings and Trump Encounter

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi is set to visit the United States next week to participate in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly. Government Spokesperson Haider Al-Aboudi announced that the visit includes a meeting with US President Donald Trump, in addition to other heads of state. Al-Aboudi clarified that the Prime Minister will deliver Iraq's speech at the UN General Assembly meetings. He indicated that the visit's agenda highlights the strategic relations linking Iraq with other nations, noting that Al-Zaidi will attend a meeting of the American Chamber of Commerce. This comes within the framework of efforts to strengthen and sustain bilateral economic and commercial ties between the two countries. The spokesperson stressed that September 30 represents a crucially important sovereign milestone, as the relationship with Washington will transition towards long-term economic partnership.
