Pezeshkian: Pressures on Iran "Reached Dangerous Stage" at BRICS Summit

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, at the BRICS summit in India on Friday, warned that pressures on Tehran "have reached a dangerous stage" following the US-Israeli attack that began on February 28. He added his country has faced severe sanctions in recent years, and these pressures escalated to a critical and dangerous level in recent months after the military aggression, noting the world is currently in a period of unprecedented complexity. This visit is Pezeshkian's first to India since assuming the presidency, firmly placing the Middle East conflict on the summit's agenda. The BRICS group, founded in 2009 as a forum for major emerging economies to enhance their influence within institutions dominated by Western powers, later expanded to include Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
