Parliamentary Member Reveals Proposal to Adjust Lower Grade Salaries

A member of parliament announced that the Minister of Finance has put forward a proposal aimed at adjusting the salaries of employees in lower job grades. MP Mohammed Hussein Abu Al-Aiss clarified that this proposal serves as an interim solution to the issue of salary discrepancies, while work is ongoing to resolve the legal challenges associated with the current salary scale. Abu Al-Aiss stated in a press remark that the existing salary scale law contradicts a significant number of legal provisions, a matter that has been raised by successive governments. This situation necessitates addressing these legal challenges before any final formula can be approved. He added that the proposal submitted by Finance Minister Faleh Sari represents an initial step to address the clear financial disparities among employees across various ministries and government institutions. The objective is to achieve social justice and reduce the existing differences in salaries between various segments and job grades. Abu Al-Aiss emphasized that addressing the salaries of lower-grade employees can proceed as a practical step until the entire salary scale file is fully resolved, stressing the importance of reaching a formula that ensures balance and fairness for all state employees and mitigates large differences in wages.
