Pakistan Continues Efforts to De-escalate US-Iran Tensions

A Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson confirmed the nation's ongoing engagement with allied countries to resolve the US-Iran dispute. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently met the Iranian President in Bishkek, while Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar discussed the situation with his Iranian counterpart on the sidelines of the Makkah Agreement meeting. The spokesperson clarified that the Pakistani Army Chief's visit to Iran last week aimed to de-escalate tensions, foster calm, and facilitate reopening the Strait of Hormuz. This visit, he added, paved the way for subsequent visits by Omani and Qatari Foreign Ministers to Iran. Despite recent escalation, Pakistan hopes to continue advocating for dialogue and diplomacy to achieve a resolution.
