Oil rises again amid doubts success peace talks between America Iran
Oil prices recorded a rise today, Friday, amid growing investor skepticism about the prospects for progress in peace talks between the United States and Iran, as the two sides remained at odds over Tehran's uranium stockpile and control of the Strait of Hormuz, but the market is still on track to record a weekly loss.
A senior Iranian source told Reuters that no agreement had been reached with the United States, but the gap between the two sides had narrowed, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said there were "some positive signs" in the talks, but imposing any fees on transiting the strait would be unacceptable.
Brent crude futures rose 2.38 dollars, or 2.3 percent, to reach 104.96 dollars a barrel by 0034 GMT, and US West Texas Intermediate crude futures increased 1.73 dollars, or 1.8 percent, to reach 98.08 dollars.
Both benchmarks dropped by about two percent yesterday, Thursday, to their lowest settlement levels in nearly two weeks.
