Notable increase in customs financial revenues during past September
The General Authority of Customs announced on Monday a financial jump in its proceeds during September 2026, exceeding the figures of the same period last year by more than 108 billion dinars. According to an official statement issued by the relevant authority, this financial rise comes within ongoing efforts to develop revenues away from the hydrocarbon sector and support the public treasury. The administration indicated that these results were achieved in response to the directives of Finance Minister Faleh Sari, and through the direct field follow-up of the Head of the Authority, Thamer Qassim Dawood, aimed at raising administrative efficiency and developing operational mechanisms at customs outlets. Official figures showed that the total collections rose from 334,196,099,859 dinars in September 2025 to reach 442,266,831,097 dinars during September 2026, with a difference of 108,070,731,238 dinars, recording an upward percentage of about 32.34%. The administration concluded by emphasizing the need to move forward in updating the regulatory frameworks for customs work and collecting legal dues accurately, in a way that serves to protect public funds and supports the desired economic reform plans.
