New Iranian position on the Yemeni Saudi crisis
The Iranian Foreign Ministry expressed its readiness on Monday to make good offices to help facilitate talks between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. In a separate context, the ministry stressed in an official statement that security will not return to the Strait of Hormuz if the US blockade and economic war against Iran continue, affirming that American claims regarding opening the strait and losing this leverage do not match reality on the ground. It pointed out that the exchange of messages with the US through intermediaries is ongoing, explaining that it is currently studying the American response to its proposal and will inform intermediaries upon reaching a conclusion. It added that Washington recently imposed new sanctions that must be lifted, noting that the proposal submitted to the US includes the commitments outlined in the memorandum of understanding.
