New government decisions regarding entry of vegetables through border crossings

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi issued official directives on Monday allowing the entry of vegetable shipments that had accumulated at border crossings. The Head of the Border Crossings Authority, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, expressed in an official statement his great appreciation for the direct attention and diligent directives issued by the Prime Minister, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and the Director of the Commander-in-Chief's Office, to resolve the issue of the piled-up shipments and facilitate their entry into the country, which supports the movement of trade and ensures the smooth arrival of these crops to local markets. Al-Waeli pointed out that this swift response reflects the government's keenness to follow up on citizens' daily life issues, provide daily needs, and overcome obstacles affecting the availability of food materials, especially perishable crops, to avoid delays in reaching consumers. He concluded by affirming the authority's full commitment to implementing these directives in coordination with relevant authorities to streamline procedures, serve the public interest, and maintain the smooth flow of border trade in accordance with regulations.
