Ministry of Labour Launches New Social Aid Payment for August

The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs announced on Sunday the launch of the social aid payment for August 2026. This disbursement targets over 2.046 million families across Baghdad and all governorates, excluding the Kurdistan Region, with a total amount exceeding 438 billion Iraqi dinars. Ahmed Al-Mousawi, Head of the Social Protection Authority, clarified that this payment included more than 1.482 million male-headed households, amounting to over 353 billion dinars. Additionally, it covered over 564,000 female-headed households, with an amount exceeding 84 billion dinars. Al-Mousawi urged eligible families to visit the approved disbursement outlets to receive their entitlements. He emphasized the Authority's commitment to ensuring smooth disbursement procedures and guaranteeing that aid reaches its beneficiaries on schedule. He affirmed that this payment is part of the Ministry's ongoing commitment to support social protection programs and enhance the living stability of the most vulnerable groups.
