Ministry of Justice Expands Telephone Services in Nasiriyah Central Prison with 680 Phone Booths
The Ministry of Justice announced on Wednesday the installation of 680 telephone booths in Nasiriyah Central Prison. The ministry stated that this move is part of its efforts to improve services for inmates and enhance humanitarian aspects within correctional facilities. In coordination with the Ministry of Communications and the General Company for Communications and Informatics in Dhi Qar, the prison was equipped with an additional 450 telephone booths, bringing the total number to 680 booths dedicated to inmate communications with their relatives and families. This step aims to expand communication services and provide inmates with greater opportunities for regular contact with their families, contributing to strengthening family ties and maintaining social connections, as well as offering a correctional environment that considers the humanitarian and social aspects of inmates. These measures are part of the Iraqi Correctional Department's efforts to develop service infrastructure and raise the level of services provided in correctional institutions, aligning with the ministry's directives to improve the correctional environment and enhance the humanitarian care requirements for inmates.
