Ministry of Construction to Launch Housing Fund Loans
The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities announced the imminent launch of the Housing Fund's annual lending plan, as part of its efforts to support the housing sector and expand opportunities for citizens to obtain loans for building or completing their residential units. The Ministry's official spokesperson, Istabraq Sabah, clarified that this plan aligns with government directives to provide accessible housing finance. Sabah noted that the Fund has completed approximately seven thousand loan transactions since the beginning of 2026. He further explained that the plan relies on self-financing and the recycling of collected installments, offering interest-free loans disbursed in stages according to construction progress, with applications opening once annually based on a schedule distributed among the governorates.
