Military tension delays energy alliance review of future production plans
Military operations have disrupted regional energy expansion projects, prompting the OPEC+ alliance to postpone the assessment of member states' production capacities intended to determine quotas for 2027. The alliance, which brings together the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries with Russia and other partners, had requested in late 2025 a comprehensive evaluation of members' capabilities to conclude by September 2026. With recent field developments, the proposed deadline to complete the evaluation has been extended to mid-November.
