Kuwait Adds Iranian Attacks to History Curriculum, Affirms Neutrality in Regional Conflict

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Education has included the attacks the country experienced during the Iran war in its tenth-grade history curriculum. This initiative aims to document these events and present Kuwait's official stance on the conflict to future generations. The tenth-grade history textbook dedicates two pages to the Iranian attacks that targeted Kuwait in 2026. It includes images showing damage to Kuwait International Airport from these attacks, which occurred during the American-Israeli war against Iran. Under the title "Heinous Iranian Aggressions against the State of Kuwait," the curriculum describes these attacks as "heinous Iranian aggression" carried out by missiles and drones. The aggressions targeted vital government facilities and residential areas, including the Public Institution for Social Security building, the Ministries Complex, and residential neighborhoods. The curriculum states these attacks constituted "a violation of Kuwait's sovereignty and security," prompting enhanced readiness of state institutions to manage security developments. It also affirms Kuwait's right to defend its territories and continue diplomatic efforts to maintain regional security and stability. The documentation also covers Kuwait's political stance on the war, highlighting Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's role in guiding state institutions and boosting readiness, while stressing Kuwait is not a party to the ongoing conflict between the United States and Israel on one side, and Iran on the other.
