Iraqi Airways resumes direct flights to Iran starting next Thursday

Local News The management of Iraqi Airways confirmed on Monday the schedule for resuming direct national carrier flights toward the Islamic Republic of Iran, starting next Thursday, corresponding to October 8, 2026. The company's management indicated in an official statement that the new operating schedule includes providing regular daily flights connecting Najaf Ashraf International Airport with the airports of Mashhad, Tehran, and Isfahan. It explained that the return of these flights aims primarily to facilitate the smooth movement of passengers and provide regular air transport alternatives connecting Iraqi territories with various Iranian cities. It pointed out that reviving this air route falls within the Ministry of Transport's endeavors aimed at revitalizing aviation activity and expanding horizons of air connectivity between Iraq and its regional surroundings.
