Iran's Foreign Ministry: MoU with United States Lacks 60-Day Deadline

A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry clarified that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Iran and the United States does not stipulate a 60-day deadline. The spokesman, Esmaeil Baqaei, indicated that Washington had violated the terms of this memorandum shortly after its signing. Baqaei emphasized that Iran's steadfastness thwarted the calculations of adversaries, revealing ongoing communications with Qatar, which plays an influential role in current de-escalation efforts. Baqaei confirmed that Tehran has closely followed the fate of the pilots in Qatar since the early days, considering this a serious and important demand for Iran. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Baqaei attributed the insecurity in the vital waterway to illegal US actions.
