Iranian Military Official Anticipates Ground Confrontation with US Forces

A senior Iranian military official affirmed that the ongoing conflict with the United States constitutes a "long-term war of attrition," emphasizing that his country's forces are anticipating a direct field confrontation with American ground troops. Major General Mohammad Jafar Asadi, former Deputy Head of Inspection at the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, stated that the confrontation with the United States is a "long-term war of attrition." Asadi explained that eliminating what he described as the "Great Satan" requires patience and time, indicating that this war "will not be decided quickly." He asserted that victory would belong to those who fight in fulfillment of their duty and for God's satisfaction. In discussions regarding potential escalation of the confrontation, the Iranian military official expressed his country's aspiration for American ground forces to find themselves in a position that allows for a direct confrontation on the field. Asadi added that displaying American prisoners inside Iran would be a day of great significance and celebration for the Iranian people, reiterating that Tehran awaits the day it can directly engage with US forces on the ground.
