Iran Estimates Hormuz Management Revenues at $10–15 Billion

ISNA reported, citing an Iranian parliamentary official, that revenues from managing the Strait of Hormuz are estimated between $10 and $15 billion.

The estimate comes amid discussions of a new draft law.

Aimed at regulating control of the strategic waterway.

Including imposing transit fees on foreign vessels.

The proposal seeks to increase national revenues.

And strengthen the domestic currency.

By requiring ships to pay fees in Iranian rial.
