IMF Forecasts Iraq to Lead Arab Economies Growth by 2027
The International Monetary Fund projected that Iraq will record the highest economic growth rate among Arab countries during 2027, reaching 19%, according to its forecasts regarding the performance of Arab economies. The fund noted that the performance of Arab economies witnessed a shift between 2026 and 2027, as several Arab oil-exporting countries faced economic pressures resulting from navigation disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz and a decline in oil supplies. It added that most Arab economies are poised for recovery during 2027, alongside the return of oil exports to their normal levels and improved security conditions, expecting Iraq to lead Arab countries in terms of economic growth rate.
