IMF Forecasts Iraq to Lead Arab Economic Growth in Twenty Twenty Seven
The International Monetary Fund projected that Iraq will record the highest economic growth rate among Arab countries during the year 2027, reaching 19 percent, according to its forecasts regarding the performance of Arab economies. The fund explained that the performance of Arab economies witnessed a shift between 2026 and 2027, as several Arab oil-exporting countries faced economic pressures resulting from navigation disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz and a decline in oil supplies. It added that most Arab economies are poised for recovery during 2027, with oil exports returning to normal levels and security conditions improving, reiterating its expectation that Iraq will lead the Arab nations in economic growth rate.
