Fistfights.. behind scenes Trump security during China visit
Hebrew reports stated that US President Donald Trump's visit to China witnessed unprecedented security tension, punctuated by fistfights between members of the US Secret Service and US intelligence agencies on one hand, and the Chinese police on the other hand, against the background of differences related to securing the US delegation.
According to the "Netziv" website, the disputes began since the delegation's arrival in Beijing and continued until its departure on board the presidential plane "Air Force One," as the visit was accompanied by strict security measures described as exceptional.
Sources indicated that the US crew adhered to a strict security protocol, which included relying on water and food brought from the United States, and not eating any local food during the visit, in light of security concerns related to the possibility of tampering or poisoning.
It also reported that the US authorities obligated the delegation members and journalists to dispose of gifts and belongings presented by the Chinese side, including souvenirs, cards, pins, and electronic devices, before boarding the plane, amid measures described as aiming to prevent any possibilities of a security breach or electronic espionage.
The reports added that American concerns included the possibility of some gifts containing electronic chips or precise monitoring tools, which prompted preventing the transfer of any materials of Chinese origin on board the presidential plane.
In contrast, no official comment was issued from the Chinese side regarding these allegations, while reports confirmed that the visit was characterized by an atmosphere of security tension, despite the official media discourse that focused on the positive reception character.
