FAO index records jump in global food prices

The Food and Agriculture Organization food price index recorded a notable increase in March, reaching its highest level since December.

The index stood at 128.5 points, up 2.4% month-on-month.

The organization cited ongoing shifts in global markets.

It also raised its grain production forecast to 3.036 billion tons, a record high.
