Dollar Gains Amid Mideast Tensions and Oil Price Surge
The U.S. dollar recorded a slight increase against most major currencies as Asian markets opened on Monday. This rise is attributed to escalating conflict in the Middle East, rising oil prices, and continued weak investor confidence following last week's disturbances. The dollar gained 0.1% against the Japanese Yen to reach 162.48 Yen, marking its strongest level since July 9, driven by geopolitical tensions and investors moving towards safe-haven assets. Conversely, the Euro fell 0.1% to $1.1426, while the British Pound stabilized at $1.3445. The Australian Dollar also declined 0.1% to $0.6975, and the New Zealand Dollar dropped 0.2% to $0.5833.
