CNN: Iranian Delegation in Islamabad Rules Out Direct Meeting with Americans, Sticks to Pakistani Channels
CNN quoted a U.S. source today, Friday, April 24, 2026, stating that the Iranian delegation currently visiting Islamabad will not meet directly with any U.S. representatives. Pakistani officials explained that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will present Tehran's perspective on peace proposals during bilateral talks with the Pakistani side, to be later conveyed to Washington. This comes as Iran still refuses to formally commit to the negotiation round scheduled for last Tuesday, despite President Trump's unilateral extension of the ceasefire to provide an additional opportunity for diplomatic efforts.
