Cabinet exempts food and medicines from customs duties soon
The Council of Ministers decided, on Tuesday, to exempt imported foodstuffs and medicines from customs duties. The Media Office of the Prime Minister stated that the cabinet decided to exempt imported food and medicines from customs duties. The statement added that the decision applies starting from October 7, 2026. Days ago, Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi had directed to postpone the collection of customs duties and taxes imposed on imported egg, chicken, and meat products, following the decision to amend the exchange rates of the Iraqi dinar against the US dollar.
