Al-Zaidi and Pezeshkian Witness Signing of Key Iraq-Iran Cooperation Accords
Tehran, the Iranian capital, witnessed on Thursday the oversight by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian of the signing ceremony for four bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding. These steps aim to enhance cooperation and partnership between the two countries across several vital sectors. The signed agreements included: an international land freight and transport agreement, and a memorandum of understanding for extending railway lines connecting Kermanshah, Khosravi, and Khanaqin all the way to Baghdad. It also covered a memorandum of understanding for twinning between the Baghdad Municipality and Tehran Municipality, in addition to an MOU in the field of government administration and human resource training. The agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed on the Iraqi side by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Electricity, along with the acting Ministers of Finance and Planning.
