2026 Record Achievement: Ministry of Oil Launches Phase I of "Accelerated" Bin Umar Gas Investment Project to Boost Power Supplies

 The Ministry of Oil announced on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the opening of Phase I of the Bin Umar Accelerated Gas Investment Project, completed in a record 15 days. Deputy Minister Izzat Sabir noted that the project will process up to 80 million standard cubic feet per day, providing essential dry gas for power plants and 600 tons of LPG for the local market. This 2026 initiative, supported by integrated national efforts, aims to maximize gas utilization, increase revenues, and ensure energy security through advanced infrastructure and reduced wastage.
